Arden Courts
Today at Arden courts, we talked about and reflected upon Jesus, the one whose birth we celebrated during Christmas. In the Old Testament reading today, (Isaiah 9:6-7) Isaiah described Jesus as more than just a baby. He wrote about Jesus many hundreds of years ago, before the birth of Jesus. Isaiah described a Son given to us whose name is called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace.
The highlight of the service today was, sadly tragic for one of the Residents became incontinent and diarrhead on a fellow Resident at the service. Needless to say, the incontinent resident was very embarrassed and walked to her room but the poor victim had to remain seated because she was adamant to receive Holy Communion before going on to clean up herself.
It was very encouraging to see everybody remain seated and could not be deterred by the "accident" which emphasized the significance with which the Residents regard the Church service by Baraka.
Baraka could do with more volunteers on Sunday afternoons; especially as the services are a blessing to those that do come.
